Introducing fully digitized education system is imminent: Telecom Minister
Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mostafa Jabbar said blended education was not sustainable. This is an important step in the transition from ancient education system to modern education. We really need to introduce fully digitised education system. To that end, a task force on blended education has been formed and several meetings have been held in this regard.
The minister was speaking as the chief guest at a virtual workshop on establishing digital connectivity in all educational institutions of Bangladesh organized by BTRC in Dhaka on Saturday (March 5).
Noting that the revolution of radical change in the field of education in Bangladesh is imminent. Ensuring digital connectivity and digital devices is essential for this purpose, he added.
BTRC Chairman Shyam Sundar Sikder presided over the function while the BTRC Director General Brigadier General Nasim Parvez delivered the keynote address. a2i policy adviser Anir Chowdhury spoke in the event too.
Minister of Posts and Telecommunications said that we will not go back to the pre-pandemic state and said, "We have been implementing the Digital Bangladesh program since 2009. We have realized the need for this during the Covid19 pandemic."Even in 2008, it seemed to many that digital Bangladesh was not possible. Now Bangladesh has achieved amazing success not only in digital Bangladesh but also in digital technology. Mr. Mostafa Jabbar, a pioneer in the development of digital technology, said that even after 324 years of backwardness in technology, under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh has been keeping pace with the world in 5-G technology. The Minister mentioned that we will auction 5-G technology this month. He said that connectivity, content creation and teacher training in the existing education system is one of the major challenges in digitizing the entire education system.
Shyam Sundar Sikder mentioned connectivity as one of the major challenges in the sustainable digital transformation of education. He emphasized the need for closer ties with BTRC in this regard.
